Welcome

Welcome to the Fredericksburg District.  We are 74 United Methodist congregations with one uniting vision.  Our congregations, ministry settings, and people are very diverse, but our passion is to Make Disciples.

We seek to Make Disciples through four entry points, Unity, Spiritual Formation, Empowering Our Laity, and through Mission ministry in our neighborhoods, throughout our Conference, and around the world.  We value lay and clergy as equal and effective partners in ministry.

Most importantly, we invite you to connect with one of our congregations of ministries to grow deeper in faith and to transform the world for Jesus Christ.

Prayer, Praise, & Celebration with Bishop Cho

1

April 9th at Wright's Chapel UMC at 10:00am

If you are among the Fredericksburg District Congregations who adopted the Prayer Covenant,

If you are among the individuals who signed the Personal Prayer Covenant,

If you are a staunch believer in the Power of Prayer,

If you are ready to connect with Christ in a special way, we have a great renewing celebration planned just for you!

The Fredericksburg District is delighted to invite you and your congregation to a morning of Prayer, Praise and Celebration with Bishop Cho on April 9th at Wright's Chapel UMC at 10:00am to experience the presence of the Holy Spirit in a joyful and renewing way. As many remember, Bishop Cho will transition into retirement in the late summer of 2016, so this will be our final opportunity as a District to be with and hear from our Conference Shepherd and Spiritual Leader.
We are calling every congregation, every United Methodist, and every child of God to come out and celebrate the goodness of the Lord. Mark your calendars now for this inspiring and joyous event and be sure to bring a friend.

Please promote this event in your churches. We have uploaded a bulletin insert for your use--click here to download.

Blessings, Ted

Disaster Relief

Virginia Tornado Disaster Response Information

No new teams needed in either location at this time. The working together of all the denominations and volunteer groups has been phenomenal during this disaster to get things this far in this short of a period of time.

On April 1st we expect to move into the next phase which is long term recovery so please plan your teams for that time period. You do not have to be ERT credentialed for long term recovery, however your team must have a UMVIM certified leader.

We can't start earlier than April 1st because FEMA and the other responsible agencies have to sort through the applications and determine who qualifies and who doesn't and that takes time. I will put out one last notice tonight explaining the who qualifies part.

Once you have a team leader identified and start putting together your team members please let me know where you are willing to go, who thew UMVIM Team Leader is, and how many people you will have available.

Eventually, I will not be collecting this information and a full time manager will be hired for that position, in the interim I am it. LTR will be drawn out so if your team isn't necessarily ready right on April 1st that is ok we will have work for awhile in both locations.
