United Methodist Women -- Faith, Hope, and Love in Action!
The Fredericksburg District United Methodist Women is a community of 1,083 women in 49 UMW units who contributed $48,957.06 toward mission giving in 2012. Imagine how many women, children and youth around the world whose lives will be changed, because of our faithful giving. What a joy and blessing it is to be a part of this amazing organization of women. If you would like to join us but your church does not have a UMW unit, please call or email me. There are several options we can pursue to get you connected and involved.
How to Involve Young Women in UMW
WE MADE YOUTUBE! Betsey Davis, Conference UMW web coordinator, made a video from our January 2014 district training event. It shows one of our members (Anji Budzynski) sharing her ideas on how to involve younger women in UMW.
New! District UMW Scholarships for Conference Events
We have decided to use part of our cookbook proceeds to fund scholarships to conference events. To summarize, we will offer half scholarships to UMW events at Blackstone for those who have never attended that event before. We also have two $50 scholarships for youth in our district to attend any youth conference event or Mission Encounter, so please pass the word to your unit members and the youth in your church. Contact your unit UMW president for more information. Applications are due two weeks before the event.

We still have cookbooks for sale, $10 each. You can get one from our District Office or at our district UMW events. Help us continue to fund our scholarship program.
